I am just learning some of these processes and I wanted some feedback:
average of only 10 defective parts per million is currently produced. What are the upper and lower control limits for a sample size of 100?
Recompute the upper and lower control limits for a sample size of 10,000?
Which of these two sample sizes would you recommend? Explain.
I am working this problem in a spreadsheet and just want an opinion.
Whomever answers in advance thanks0November 11, 2005 at 9:51 pm #129630
Ken FeldmanParticipant@DarthInclude @Darth in your post and this person will

You read his language and inferred from it that he must have been talking about control charts.

Sure miss Stan and Phil and Vinny and some of the others who made this place a little more fun than it currently is. Civil but too staid and serious….plus traffic is way down. This must be making MC nervous.

Ken FeldmanParticipant@DarthInclude @Darth in your post and this person will

As one of the other posters pointed out, things are more civil without the Stanmeister but still he does add a special flavor to the Forum. As for Vinny and Phil, their humor is missed. But, given most of the current posts, even those master humorists would have trouble finding humor.
0November 13, 2005 at 9:04 pm #129660Teddy honey,
I care where Stan went.
You, just like a lot of others loudmouths on here – where is your contribution? I haven’t seen anything from a Teddy that answered anyone’s legitimate question. Throwing shxxballs is easy, actually contributing isn’t.
Actually help someone, I do everyday. I live my life helping extend knowledge and giving a voice to change agents. If you don’t like what I do on here don’t read anything posted by Stan. I don’t post with any other name.0November 13, 2005 at 10:46 pm #129663Stanley, Stanley, Stanley – where have thou been? Combing the kitties coats or at a dungeons and dragons tourney? Or perhaps you and your internet girlfirend have finally decided to meet? Ah, a boy on the town in love!
You live your life extending “knowledge” do you? If thats what you call your own unsubstantiated recycled garbage, than so be it. Go back to the cave, we were better off without you.

0November 14, 2005 at 6:18 pm #129686Friends,
Sorry to have left you all high and dry. My time in the slammer as a result of an incident caused by my continued rage at the quality of the questions asked and the lack of content and insight, which has kept me from contributing. I hope to oneday be inspired to return, maybe after the warden gives me more than 15 minutes a day away from my cell.
It was also fueled by way too much coffee.
In fact, here is a image of the incident which led to my incarceration, which was introduced at the trial. It’s nothing I’m proud of, but now part of history.Smile and say venti.

I am still checking in when I get a chance. This is a busy time of year.
Regards0November 14, 2005 at 9:27 pm #129701And my continued absence has been almost completely due to my trying unsuccessfully to use the many research and development resources of the vast monolithic GiantMedicalProducts Corporation to prototype a huge one-of-a-kind nerd extraction tool to free Phils head from the huge human waste container.
The ultimate solution, an admittedly poor solution it appears to have been once fully storyboarded and presented to isixsigma forum senior management, was to turn Phil’s huge nerd encapsulating waste sample containing pot into something resembling a rather innocuous looking teacup equipped with a small ultrahigh pressure oscillating and vacillating hyperbaric chamber to prevent Phils huge melon from either imploding or exploding (depending on posting content) upon hearing coworkers read and further distort (if possible) the forums content of the moment.
But Im pleased to say that Phil has adjusted completely to his new ultrahigh pressure environment, small children now sleep better at night, dogs have stopped howling, and forum content has reached hitherto un-reached or scaled waveform amplitudes and vectors. All is well in isixsigmaland.
Phils erstwhile protégée,
Vinny
(I attribute my and Phils synchronized looking in on forum activities to the earlier implanting of the really cool cranial V-chips by a previous stratospherically dwelling forum poster, Phils having finally settled comfortably into his pressurized environment with its shower and exercise yard regimens, and my ultimate completion and presenting of the pesky nerd extraction tool six sigma storyboard.)0November 14, 2005 at 10:04 pm #129704

0November 15, 2005 at 1:12 am #129710Yeah, yeah……
Alas, twas not I wearing the oversized cup modeled in the likeness of a fine un-Six Sigma American-Standard bathroom product, it was the owner of the box of Fruit Loops pictured in the image whom fell victim to my terrible crime. Fueled by caffine and rage, I was unstoppable……
Had I thought the overturned object had a self-contained, secret pressurized flushing mechanism as you’ve alleged, I may have been spared the charges, the trial, and oh so many shower incidents with several individuals here who still remember members of the JO Club when they did time at this nameless facility.
If the poor wearer of the fine imported china object in question been liberated from his temporary cup-like-toilet huge cranial adornment, said charges and prison time would have been averted. Sadly, Rocky the Rodent, his favorite animal cranial adornment was on his head when I struck and didn’t make it out from under the large object in time to allow the animal paramedics to provide mouth to rodent rescue.
Thanks for nuthin….
Gotta go, the warden say’s we’re going to get popcorn and juice boxes…..Then it’s back to making license plates.0November 15, 2005 at 12:49 pm #129719

This is the first time I have laughed at a posting in a long time except for the ones asking about where to find something about sick sigma and what to do their PhD on. Phil, if you provide the Warden’s email address or that of the Dept. of Corrections, we will mount a campaign to “FREE PHIL”.
0November 15, 2005 at 4:34 pm #129727To my friends on the outside:
I got a plan.
When I get out of here, if I get out of here, I have been working on a big opportunity. Very Un-Six Sigma NBC, #3 rated television network and GE’s franchise in the distribution of garbage to the world called the media is considering a pilot I’ve submitted to them before my incarceration.
“Desperate Process Improvers” will knock-off that other show on another network with those hot women behaving badly and jiggling in scant outfits while highly suggestive storylines create compelling television viewing for a hypersexual audience craving such visual images.
“Desperate Process Improvers” would, I propose, chronical Darth, Vinny, Phil and our best new talent at isixsigma HF Chris in a somewhat simular format. Nothing like 4 old guys, likely to be overweight and comparatively unattractive, (not you Vinny, Ken say’s you’re very a handsome and brilliant man) working in the change business to help NBC to regain the #1 position of top dog in the network TV business. Maybe through us, they’ll learn something about Six Sigma.
Maybe we can also meet Katie Couric, too….
We can get NBC to fly us to RSA and visit Mike Carnell and do some episodes on location at his HQ there in the Pink Palace.
Maybe we can get MC to let us blog our exploits off camera for our little community.
Who’s with me?
Whoppppps, gotta go. The warden is doing a cell block check looking for a shiv.0November 15, 2005 at 5:01 pm #129729
