    Hi,
Can any one answer to the following questions:
    1. Can DFSS be applied in service industry?
    2. Though not sure, still we are trying it to apply it, as per DFSS road map we have done Process Mapping, FMEA, defined CTQ’s, Define KPI and KPO. What would be next step? Is it DOE, If yes then how to proceed and If no then what else?

If you have your scored CTQs and your Inputs defined, a QFD would be my next step.  I usually develop about 3 to 4 layers of QFDs for a typical process.  The hard part about using SS in the service industry is that you don’t always have hard data.  Many times you must rely on subjective data.  Be sure you have a diverse team with all stakeholders represented, and build consnesus amoung the customers as to what their expectations of the process are.

    Hi,
We are almost about to launch our product in few days, will it really make sense to start QFD? Becuase as per my understandging its very time consuming excercise (correct me if I am wrong). Can we go ahead and rely on our control plan desgined through FMEA?

QFD is one of the enablers to do a control plan for design. If you have initially identified a design control plan which focuses on the service itself and aligns with the design FMEA, then proceed BUT if you still do not have a DESIGN control pland and a DESIGN Fmea, it will be difficult for you to proceed.
