Carl HertzParticipant@Carl-HertzInclude @Carl-Hertz in your post and this person will
be notified via email.HiI would like your input as how to tackle a project where the problem is dimensions of a part, that is width, length and thicknes variation, above or below specification. How should I apply the Measure tool?
What should I look into as data collection?I guess my question is where to satrt, what factors should I look into firts, the final assembled product or the parts in wip? Also should I consider what causes the variation as shift, people, tools, machines, etc?Or Should I start the “Measure phase” directly by going into the machines capabilities?Any comments suggestions will be appreciated.Thanks.0October 30, 2005 at 2:37 pm #56814

As ur Process output is of dimensional chracteristics.
First step is
1. Conduct Repeatablity and Reproduciblity
2. Based on the study. confirm ur measurment process. do 4M analysis – Men , M/C ,Method, Material. or Multi vari approach to find the root cause.
