I am a nonstatician struggling to know about six sigma. My querry is…
When we talk of Six Sigma concept, two things come in my mind viz a) DMAIC procedure and b) Normal cruve.- My DMAIC procedure relates as more the DPMO lesser the sigma     level. – If I compare the concept of normal curve, if the observations are   centered towards mean it says process is good but the sigma level is   ±1s from mean on my X axis.
I dont know my question is valid? whatever kindly correct me.

Whenever you deal with continuous(measurable) data, the bell curve concept can be applied. When you deal with Discrete data, the concept of DPMO can be applied. However, the DPMO Versus Sigma rating calculation is extracted from the concept of normal (bell) curve with specification limits.

Thanks TUMMALACan you also guide me on my another part of worry i.e.,If the process is centered at mean thereby saying process is going good, on the other hand my X axis on that bell curve graph shows ±1s. Hope you have got what I am trying to question.
