It is with great sadness that I share with you that Dr. Mikel Harry has passed away.

Quality Digest wrote a nice summary of his contributions to the industry:

You can share thoughts and look through posted pictures at:

Mike and I went back a number of years. I didn’t know him when he was deploying Six Sigma at GE, but our paths crossed many times over the past two decades and I considered him a friend.

You can read his answers to over 100 Lean and Six Sigma questions in the “Ask Me Anything” section of iSixSigma:

He’s done a tremendous amount of good for people, companies and organizations around the world. Rest in peace, Mike.

    TY for sharing

@michaelcyger Mikel did create this Six Sigma industry we have all spent so much time in. From our early years at Motorola Mikel always had a vision that was much bigger than what i ever imagined and he had the energy to make it happen.

A Marine Corps brother. Semper Fi.

I agree with Mike Carnell. Mikel took an experience several of us were blessed with obtaining because of Bob Galvin’s vision and made it a viable consulting segment. With a lot of help from Richard Schroeder and others.

His salesmanship allowed many of us to live a life we never envisioned as engineers and managers at Motorola.

    Rest in peace.
