Hi,
I would be conducting a short training on the QFD & CTQ Drilldown tree for a non-sixsigma audience. I am searching for some interesting real life examples, which are easy to understand to share with the group to make the session more lively.
Can you please help…Thanks in anticipation.0May 2, 2006 at 3:04 pm #137091Neo:We usually use some kind of product/service selection. The deliverable is a good cup of coffee in the morning. You can first decide the attributes of a “good cup of coffee,” without restrictions to location, etc.The choices can be various types of coffee making machines for home use, or could also include a prepaid Starbucks card. When we ran this in Europe we got VERY different answers than previous trials. We had a moment to discuss market segments and survey sampling. When we were in New York, we used a QFD to define the requirements for a establishing a food cart outside the building. A good “how” might be, “Not being able to see David Blaine.” I was amazed that people would actually eat that stuff – “road food” they called it.Cheers, BTDT

Thinking Six SigmaMember@Thinking-Six-SigmaInclude @Thinking-Six-Sigma in your post and this person will
be notified via email. The best example I have is based on multiple contractors working at my house at one time. I needed to make sure that they all knew what they were responsible for and that I did not end up with “I thought X was doing that part, I didn’t quote that piece”. I simply did a CTQ flowdown for each and made sure they understood what piece was theirs. Of course, it looked different for each since their specialty of work was different. I got everything I wanted done and without any confusion in responsibility. Not traditional maybe, but it worked.
