Dear respected and/or loathed forum members,

Over the last few years I have acknowledged that I (Stevo) am the official governing body of Six Sigma and since you read it on the internet it must be true.

Well, I have exciting news today; I have expanded my governing jurisdiction to include Lean.

So, please give me the respect that I deserve and stop all this nonsense and arguing and defer all questions and judgment calls to me.

    Your leader,

    Stevo

Ps.  Regarding who coined the phase “lean”, please throw my name into the hat.

The definition of Lean includes (I think maybe Mike was referring to
this yesterday) -Purple Drank is an illegal recreational drink popular in the hip-hop
community of the Southern United States. Its main ingredients are
prescription-strength cough syrup containing codeine and
    promethazine.[1]
The purple-ish hue of Purple Drank comes from dyes in the cough
syrup. Recently, the term has expanded to cover mixtures
including over-the-counter cough syrup. Other terms for Purple
Drank include Sizzurp, Drank, Purple Tonic, Texas Tea, Memphis
Mud, Lean, Oil, Tsikuni, Barre, and Sir.

    Stevo, Good morning!

Thank you for the announcement Which term of reverance do you prefer:

Something ordinary, like:  Oh, most humble one!

    — OR — do you prefer something with more of a Lean / Six Sigma twist:

    1.  Most Exhaulted Ruler of Improvement.
    2.  His Royal Upper-Control-Limit-ess
    3.  Keeper of the Faith and the Response Surface.
    4.  Supreme Commander-in-Chief-Objectives
    5.  The Sultan of the Sigma Shift.
    6.  The Duke of DMAIC.
    7.  The Barron of Benchmarking
    8.  The Count of Corrective Action
    9. Your Highness of Hypotheses
    10.  The King of Kaizen
    11. The Field Marshall of FMEA
    12. The Crown Prince of PDCA
    13.  The Czar of Cpk
    14. The Ruler of Repeatability
    15. The Leader of Low-Hanging-Fruit

    … or, something else??

    Best regards,
    QualityColordo

… sounds more like Stevo has lately had a little surgery done lately and converted to the Cleopatra of Lean or the Madonna of Lean Six Sigma. Now that we know that you’re really “Stevette”, which of these royal highnesses will it be? I assume the princely Diane is not gonna cut it given your royal authority + that would require that you to get married to the most royal of all highnesses of Lean: Mike who has the unique privilege of having “designed” an undergraduate 3 hour introduction in your royal realm.

    Your Eminence,
You need a court.  Any nominations?  I have some ideas for court jester…  And you’ll need to organize an army to defend your domain.  Surely Stan, Darth, and others won’t just sit around and send you tribute.
I for one remain your humble servant.  Let’s go out and slay some dragons.

Hey Stevo will not get any grief from me.I only go after those with an inflated sense of self worth (okay, you
are right, I don’t go after Darth but he is my tequila drinking buddy,
the Deming anecdotes are much more interesting after a half bottle or
    so)

    Stan,
I nominate you as #1 dragon slayer in Stevo’s army.
BTW I’m not a tequila drinker myself; I prefer “girly” Sam Adams.  OTOH, I managed to share a bottle of bai jiu in China recently.  That stuff packs a hell of a punch (52% alc).

Hey, I alike the dragonslayer title, thank you. Sounds much better
than blowhard slayer. The girly stuff is okay, but in a nice Irish town like Boston, it seems as
    though Guiness is better

Glad you like it.  Remember that dragons are known for blowing hot air.
No argument from me about Guinness.  I’m Irish, and besides, Guinness is the official drink of statistics.  And what other alcoholic beverage allows you to imprint its own logo right into the foam?  But I also like the strong hops flavor of Sam Adams lager.

    Amen, Brother!
Ahh, Guinness, that wonderfully pithy peat-bog laced delight.
I’m sooooo glad it is opaque…I’d hate to see what was actually floating around in there…great taste though -My absolute hands down favorite!
There is no other when Guinness is served.
    mmmmmmmmmmm……

    HBGB^2,
You COULD do what Stan does and drink tequila.  Since tequila’s NOT opaque, you CAN see what’s floating around in there (or more accurately, what’s sunk to the bottom in there).  But then, how many famous Mexican statisticians do we teach about in BB class?

This guy looks Mexican to me despite having supposedly worked at an Irish brewery.  Personally I think it was Mexican exploitation.

OK, it’s the end of the day so I cheated.  It’s a trick question.  Anthony Quinn.  The Mighty Quinn.  That’s not fair.
I hope this question never shows up on a CBB exam.

Very good. I think a seat at Union Oyster House will be reserved for you if you can answer a follow up.
Next question. If you talk funny, should you make fun of people who talk funny?

Recently, I completed a statistical study that showed that the quality of Mexican basketball has dramatically improved over the years.
My conclusion was that it was attributable to the amount of Juan-on-Juan they play…
… woops!  Sorry, I thought this was the Mexican joke forum.
