I’m trying to find out how other organizations execute final presentations.  Are they presented locally to be recognized by peers?  Are they recognized by a governing council? Are presentations given to Senior Executives?
Currently my organization gives Executive Presentations to our Quality Council.  With a growing network of projects, it is time to reconsider revising this approach.

The final Six Sigma Presentation should be presented or sent to a governing council after evaluation by the Senior Technical and Executive People of the Domain who are related to the Six Sigma Work. The Council looks from a Quality/Depth/Correctness point of view. And the Domain people look from the correctness of the facts stated and the validity of information.

    Pat,
I think, first the final presentation should have brought out the clear outputs you had planned before/start the project.
Your MBB and functional stake holder should review the project’s success. Then it should go to the six sigma champion of the organization, finally the presentation to be made to all in the comapny through a open forum.
    Hope that clarifies.
    Babu.

    Pat,
I agree with the other two replies and would say that in my organization, we present locally to peers and the affected people, a “governing” council made up of MBB primarily, and to senior executives.  I would add that in my organization, there is an interview panel process that seems to help drive home the full project completion with all of the dotting of the i’s and the crossing of the t’s.
I can see where you are going with your thoughts on changing the approach.  Maybe something along the lines of expected and/or realized project impact to the company could be used to determine the audience of a final report…just a thought.

In my opinion, it is only necessary to have the appropriate Quality (MBB, generally) and Stakeholder(s) approval for final presentations. I also like to make the final presentation open for potential Green and Black Belts, to help reduce anxiety for when it is their turn. It is only relevant for very large scale and impactful projects, or one with significant results or Best Practices to be presented in front of an Executive or Quality Council.
