    Hi friend,
I work in a company that produces baling machines. We need to get the CE as fast is possible, for this, we need an analysis of risk of our machine, FMEA is recommended by our consultant, but I think will take long to do this analysis, I was wondering if don’t have a faster way to do this analysis, please, if you have any information about it, should be very good, thanks fot the attention,
    Hugo.

    Hello folks,
The fastest way is to do nothing.
What’s wrong with doing a FMEA? Otherwise you can wait for each critical breakdown and deal with it instead of trying to prevent it from happening in the first place.

You could also use fault tree analysis , this is a great way of determining your over all risk of the system. Although this is even more time consuming than an FMEA.
For speed i would go with the FMEA approach however for completeness the FTA.

There is potential problem analysis in Kepner-Tregor problem solving which is fairly similiar with FMEA but is in simpflied format.Kepner-Tregor steal the FMEA idea and patented it to make theirs IP. Shame!!

    Hugo,
I do not think FMEA is necessarily the right tool. For the CE mark you need to carry out health and safety type risk assessments based around the operation of the equipment. In parallel to these you should also prepare an operators manual.
If you post your email I will send you a sample form which is very easy to use.
