    All:

Looking at the Job Shop on this site I am amazed with all of the jobs posted outside the US and I’m baffled.

Are these foreign markets growing that fast that they can’t hire from within?

Is there too little Six Sigma talent there to develop?

Is there a misconception that US Black belts are worth the time and resources to get them?

Are the companies that bad that they are churning thru their Black belts?

    Just wondering.

(Disclaimer – To my boss and co-workers – I’m only looking out of curiosity and not with any intent to leave.  I love my job and I love you.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.)

    Stevo,

Please step into my office for a brief discussion.

And don’t worry about your personal effects, they will be gathered, boxed and eventually dropped on your lawn.

    Stevo,
The International market is growing but it isn’t a new thing. it has been going on for years.
Pirating BB isn’t new either. In the mid 90’s there was a lot of activity around the Allied and GE belts basically because that is where most of them worked. The recruiting is heavy in the US because that is where there is a high concentration of belts not necessarily because they are better. It is still that old belief that you just go get a MBB to run your deployment. It fails frequently and the assumption is that it fails because of cultural differences not that they got the wrong person.
    Just my opinion.
    Regards

The post by Stevo seems pretty typical to me and smacks of USA elitism.  Why would he think that the job posts are aimed at USA BB’s?  Isn’t this the world wide web?  I work with BB’s from round the globe and i can tell you that on average European BB’s return better results and savings than USA based BB’s.  Folks in the usa work less hours, are less conscientous and think they are the muts nuts.  To generalise, i think they are poor to mediocre, and have no concept of the word deadline.  As i said i think it’s part of the USA culture, most are crass big heads, but get them on a one-on-one they know little.  Not in the same league as German, Czech, British or even French BB’s

By George, why do you leave out the Indian BBs from your elite list? Watch out, like their software engineer brethren, they are soon going to dominate international six sigma assignments. What say ya???

George, didn’t mean any disrespect (and I can’t always say that),

I think my question that got your goat was not understood in the spirit that I wrote it.  Please focus on the words ‘is there a misconception”.

It sounds like you’re implying that American BB’s are lazy and stupid, it’s like you have known me your entire life.

Got to go now, they have donuts in the conference room.

You may be on to something. I have been reading the messages and there appears to be a lot of enthusiasm in this area in India. Although I am Indian, I reside in the US and have been curious about the kind of response to Six Sigma in a country that has strong math focus.

German, Czech, British or even French BB’s….Wow, that certainly is a list of powerful national economies.  Please provide valid citations and references for your absurb assertions of comparative results.  Thanks.
