From Green to Black Belt

To call yourself a Black belt in the true sense, you would need to get certified as a Black Belt. Some oraganizations/professionals accept the terms TBB (trained black belts) and some do not attach any value to it. In any case, its better to get certified.

Disagree.I  believe that the TBB may  have  a  great  value,considering  the time,efforts and  even  the  spent  costs during  the  training,specially  when you  have  finsihed  one  or  2 successful  projects.I  knew about  some  who  jumped  to  Certification ,using  the  Indiana Primer and passed,calling  themselves CBB.

I understand why people could agree or disagree with that, and also the point you made regarding experience and efforts.  It’s individual perception and as I said previously, some buy it and some don’t.
In my opinion its better to go for certification. It is not to undermine the experience gained on multiple projects, but to ensure that a Black Belt certification puts to rest any doubts/concerns on credibility as just a “GB”.
 

I don’t think this will be right. You should go in for upgradation to BB thru proper training followed by certification.
