I am trying to do a GageR&R on a CMM.
I used a part wif 10 holes and each of the holes represent 1 “part”.
2 operators were used; Each measured the holes 3 times.
    I got a very high Gage R&R(>80%) for this……………….
Did i gather the data wrongly OR is it the GageR&R is really 80+%?????

You should only use a part with 10 holes if you do a different setup for each hole, otherwise you miss the operator dependency. (By this I mean fixturing, etc.)
Are you looking at the P/T ratio or RR over variation?

Hacl’s response is correct.Your 10 holes probably did not accurately represent your process
capability making the denominator artificially small, which makes the
R&R artificaially large.Where is the help from a mentor?

    tcm,
In case you don’t understand Stan’s reply. I believe Stan is saying that if all the holes are close to the same size, the small part-to-part variation in your study will result in a large calculated %R&R.
Make sure there is enough variation in hole sizes, preferably reprentative of the process variation.

    Stan,
Mike C tells me you have a nice boat, and I am offering to do a GRR on your GPS, compass, radar, whatever. The only downside is the many gallons of gasoline that will be required! My career is bringing me to Florida and it is time we all hooked up.  Mike has me email address. Springtime is good!

If you are a diver, no GR&R is required. If you are not a diver, go get certified and we can work it from there.Open water and advanced open water are my recommendations.
Nitrox and cave are both a plus.

    hacl,
Catch me offline at [email protected] and let’s talk where in FL. I live in S. FL so maybe getting together is a possibility. Stan gets down here once in a while although we haven’t visited yet and Carnell rarely visits but we have gotten together.

Hey, you hang out in the wrong gay enclave. I do Key West and you
live in what has been declared – “the best gay vacation destination” –
it beat out SOBE.We can do something with Hacl if he is really in Florida and not
Jacksonville (south Georgia) or Panama City (south Alabama).I’ve always wanted to tell him “don’t get your hackels up” whatever
    that means.

I live closer to Ft. Ldle and I am sure you followed the big flap caused by the mayor of that city.

Yes, your mayor likes cozy toilets, certainly an idea that would be
rejected by many politicains including the ficticious senator from
South Florida on Cane (Jimmy Smits, Tuesdays at 10 EST on CBS).Dispite the mayor’s lack of hospitality, Ft. Liquordale has been named
the #1 gay destination for the second straight year. I am proud that
you live in such an open minded place and one that can transform
itself in the face of changing tastes and business needs. It seems like
only yesterday that Las Olas was #1 for teenage boy postitutes.

Stan, you sure seem to know a lot about the rankings of the gay hangouts – just a hobby to track that? or more?

Stan,Have you read Shadow Divers? Your comment on Nitrox and cave diving triggered the question – great book on the lure and danger of deep wreck diving – true story about the discovery of a U-boat wreck off the coast of Jersey. Good airplane read.Go Gators

No, but I’ll get it. ThanksGo Gators – although my prediction is they will loose to Spurrier on
Nov. 10, the Gamecocks will win the SEC east, the SEC, and go on to
beat Ohio State to be the first 2 lose National Champion in a long time
    – it’s that kind of season.

The real answer is I love Key West and have for over 30 years. A lot
of people I knew left when the gay crowd became obvious, but I
decided they just had to put up with me. Same for South Beach. As far as know the rankings – there was an NPR feature a few days
ago including the piece about their DA mayor who wanted to make
toilets too small for love – and self cleaning! So what to take from this – I have all the trappings of being a
flaming liberal – listen to NPR; hang out out with gays, black folk,
Darth, Mike Carnell; love Berkeley, Austin, Madison, Ann Arbor but
not necessarily in that order; think Clinton (either one of them) is
far superior to Bush (either one of them); would vote for Al Franken
if I lived in Minnesota: would vote for Jesse Ventura or Hulk Hogan
if either ever ran for anything;… You get the picture – I believe in the basic message of change
management – try to understand the other person’s perspective.
