Can you give more details on what you are trying to do? It sounds strange idea to use the GRR for the exams. If the exams are a kind of measurement system. GRR has these main elements : Parts (what measured), operators (appraisers) and measurement system itself (tool, method, enviorement.. etc.) What are the corresponds for them in exam case?
B.S0November 28, 2007 at 4:31 pm #57463The same sort of questions came to my mind. Any answers yet?
Perhaps they are trying to determine what passing score corresponds to some successful behavior of the exam taker later, on the job? Or are they trying to determine what passing score by externally trained people is equivalent to the score that internally trained people get? In that case the “parts” would be the different classes of exam takers – external and internal, or successful and not. If they have a concern that the exam graders are not consistent, then the “operators” would be the exam graders. If they have different versions of the exam, that could be the “tool”. But I think an ANOVA may be sufficient, just comparing the scores of different classes of exam takers. It all depends, as we love to say! What is the purpose of the test?0 -
