I have been tasked with identifying the best source(s) of training materials for Green Belt and Black Belt training programs which can be deployed in my company, with the ability to license the material for internal use. I would like to tap the experience of the forum members to get recommendations on who to contact, based on their experience using or participating in such training, with feedback on the completeness, effectiveness and quality of the materials and instructors.
0January 11, 2007 at 8:59 pm #58977Our organization partners with a company that provides everything that you are seeking (i.e. company branded material that can be loaded to your site, back end reporting, etc.). I am the BB administrator of the site and use it all the time in creating new GB and BB classes for our center.
If you would like to send me an email, I can provide you with any details that I have that may be helpful to you in your search. When you email me, I will provide you the company name and contact that you can reach out to.

Will get back to you with some ideas — recommend that you cross- post at the larger iSixSigma board, too:https://www.isixsigma.com/forum/
Are you looking for training companies that will train you (and some others) to deliver this material? If so, does your company already have experienced Black Belts and Master Black Belts, or not?
Best regards,
QualityColorado

My thoughts are that we have to first train a core group of people as GBs and eventually to BB after they have had some practice applying the DMAIC tools on projects. After establishing the core, we would need to re-evaluate how to continue to train others – train the trainer would be my preferred approach with licensing of training materials and creation of the infrastructure to support project selection and sponsoring.
0January 12, 2007 at 11:27 pm #58981I’ll be looking at this issue later this year, but I’m leaning toward outsourcing. If I can’t come up with a better payback on my team’s time, then I shouldn’t be in SS. Only once you get to critical mass like Bank of America, GE, etc. does the economics make sense to me.

Donna HParticipant@Donna-HInclude @Donna-H in your post and this person will
be notified via email. In my prior company, we did something similar and had 1 person from each functional department nominated by a senior level executive for Green Belt Training, and we had a department with 4 Black Belts and 1 Master Black Belt. We wanted more than just one department to have the theory, knowledge and certification so we used QUALTEC, to come and provide us with the appropriate training and certification.
It was an intense training, and we were able to be certified within a year of initiating the training.0January 25, 2007 at 11:38 pm #59004Villanova University has the best Six Sigma Training program, in my opinion. Try http://www.villanovau.com.
