    Just curious about hard and soft savings. Our company has very strict interpretation of hard. To be hard it must directly affect ebit. Soft is everything else, but even soft must have credible supporting data.  When I see large savings estimates (which I often do) I wonder whether this is hard or soft. And how does your company define hard or soft?

    Read the interesting posting at this same discussion forum regarding GE and Six Sigma.  Now the term soft saving are really begining to scare me when you put Enron in the same forum question.
