When I went to Greenbelt training, it seems like there were a few fun things the group took part in that demonstrated the need for process improvements, etc.  I have a team presentation to give to a graduate class and thought it would be fun to teach the class a little about 6-Sigma.
One game was to have someone drop playing cards onto a target.  If they fell inside the target, they were considered good and could be moved on.  Ones outside the target had to be reworked… (Unfortunately that is all I can remember about the experiment.  Does anyone have the full documentation of how to run it?
Another one was to hand out bags of M&M’s.  We did a model of Pareto Diagraming the M&M’s by color.  We used the individual data samples from each bag of M&M’s to get a picture of the population breakdown by color and the average amount of M&M’s in each bag.  I don’t remember the % colors the M&M company puts out as to the national distribution.
The statapult was another great process, but I can’t get my hands on one, and if I could probably wouldn’t have the time in 20minutes to make good use of it.
Please help if you have a complete instruction sheet detailing the in-class demonstrations so that we might duplicate it in our Organizational Behavior Class.

Why don’t you just take a Train the Trainer session from the people who taught you, Air Academy Associates?

Can’t find any documentation from training that contains the whole experiment. I just have bits and pieces.

Next to taking the AAA train the trainer session, I would recommend Breyfogle “Implementing Six Sigma.” He has a lot of these exercises in his text.

I have sent the RTY Exercise to iSix Sigma submissions for posting and subsequent download.  It should be available soon.
