Only you can answer that question – if you need our help, maybe that’s why the interviewers were not impressed. Think about it.
    Good luck.

    Satish,
What is that you want to accomplish? Does math is interesting for you? you may want to consider Accounting and finance. studying processes sound interesting? try opetrations management?. Computers/information system..Try M.I.S  Like other reply you received, ultimately you need to decide your goals and aspirations.
    Good luck,
    Ramesh

How did you answer the question? be specific.  It might not be what you said, but how you said it.

I would answer the question that I see MBA’s running around with little knowledge or experience but making big money. I would tell them that I want to be one of those people.

There you go.  Hit the meat of it and hit it hard.

I’d follow-up by saying not only would you like to be one of those people, you’d like to lead a bunch of them and make even more money than they do.

Look’em in the eye as you say it and maybe slap your hand down on the desk as you lean in toward them.

They won’t forget you and certainly won’t turn their backs on you again.

    sathish,
I hope that your BBA was in Mongolian or Swahili, because there is no way you can impress me with your kind of grammar and vocabulary and if you do not know the reason why you want to go for an MBA, you certainly should not go for it.

this could be the least productive thread ever.
I’m starting my masters in a month or so.  I can honestly say that i’m only going to get the piece of paper.  I’m sure i’ll learn a few things but I’m not counting on it to add much to the total package.  But hey, i have a spot open on my office wall for another fancy framed paper.

I was arrogant enough to think that same thing when I began my MBA and PhD.   But I actually learned a lot about business, science, mathematics, and myself.

In the business end of it I began a trek toward becoming more of a strategic thinker than simply a tactical thinker and in the science and mathematics part of it not just gained research skills and the capacity to better fit the pieces of what I learned together but to synthesize information and knowledge from data.   All of which was a big step forward for me.

My professors used to kid us about having green parchment on our diplomas and told us to wait ten years out before we decided whether it was worth it or we knew it all anyway.

Ten years out and looking back I realize how formative those years were and that I am still learning how to effectively use the tools I gained in school.  But I’m probably not as quick a study as some.

I hope you gain more than wall filler and that you gain tools, abilities and insights that you might now not even realize you lack.

    Hi Sathish
Its not only your problem.Almost every one who goes for an interview faces such questions like Why do u want to join this course? What is the one thing that attracted you towards this company? etc etc.People at ur age who might not have thought of the same fail to give convincing reply. Its not what u say but how u say matters!!! As they say express ur best!! So try to think of it.Prepare some stuffs prior to any interview for similar kind of GENERAL questions.I am saying it general because these questions are common to most interviews.
So prepare ur best and Good Luck!!!
