How do I convince a manager to establish a new position?  What are the things that are to be taken into consideration to make a convincing statement in this regard.
Reason:  The work load has increased tremendously and there is need for a full time equivalent position to be requested.  It does not have to be full time.  It could be half time, more or less.

Hyacinth, I suggest conducting some time studies of the positions in question.  Show the number of positions needed to effectively handled the workload, and the amount of overtime currently paid to due to the increase. The overtime alone may convince your manager that a part-time position would be more cost-effective.  Hope this helps  :-)

Does anyone have a sample of a time study that I can review. I am currently looking to time a specific function our employee do and wanted to see if there was something that someone had use. I am timing the documentation function that our employees do on each account. Any information,templates.. would be greatly appreciated.

How does this book relate to healthcare?  I am curious.  How helpful is it?
