    Hi all,
         How to do R%R analysis in automatic data collection system?
          I am a BB in a chemical plant, we want to do a R%R analysis in a automatic machine–temperature setting. We want to know if is the R%R root cause for temperature variance? (electronic display, so repeatbility can be eliminated)

    Tony,
    Further to previous replies, you might want to focus on ‘repeatability.’
    Are you able to measure the ‘actual’ temperature within the equipment? Can you adjust the set-point to different levels and go back and confirm them later?

        Thanks for your feedback very much!
        For this measurement system analysis, I think we can eliminate “man” factor for the its electronic display. My concern is if the equipment suitable for detecting the variance of temperature.

    Are you trying to conduct a traditional Repeatbility of the typical R & R. If the answer is to find that whether your electronic set points are stable and accurate, Then perhaps you can set up a calibrated master temp device which is placed very close to your reguar display (This means both the devices are closeer to assume they measure a homogeneous bath/mass). Study both temp. for a a perood of time. The graphs look parallel and both are within measured tolerances, You verified the temp stability, accuracy and linearity. If you do this few ties, are you not estabilshing repeatability within a reason. Please let me know your thoughts

    This is my thinking. If you analyse the reason why a traditional Repreatability and reproducibility was needed,is due many times the operators have to take measurements like micrometers,calipers etc where the skills play an important role. Hence the the need for the above. Now coming back to your specific question ,I am assuming that you have digital temp readout and hence reproducibility is not a big deal.Operators can either read or take a rint out of the readings. Now we come to repeatability portion. Here We can take a small homgeneous batch and insert your read out and take several readings to get the needed answers. In my mind,the more relevent issue is how accurate the readings are to a master,how stable the readings at different temp to a master and how linear they are to the master over a period of time ,gves me a better return on my investment than traditional R & R. I am interested in knowing reactions to this idea,
