This was posted earlier, but I had no responses so i am trying to capture an eye again please send me suggestions and my work has been explained breifly in the posting. I am trying to improve a Health care Emergency Dept.
I am trying to apply some process improvement techniques in a healthcare environment so I would like help in identyfying all the stake holders that would be linked with my work and right now my concentration is limited to ED(emergency dept.) so I need certain more help in this regard as well and I want all the suggestions that can lead to completion of my work with a considerable amout of improvent in the function of the ED.
    thanks!

    Ramesh,
Please don’t take offense, but from my limitied experience if anyone knows what processes need improvement it is the consultants, the nurses, the porters, and the cleaners. Unfortunately, at present in the UK few ‘administrators’ seem to be listening to them.
By the way, the most important stakeholder in a hospital is a pathologist.
    Good luck,
    Andy

I understand you andy but this thing i am doing it for a Master’s thesis and I need an entire big picture and my target areas of improvement would be the ancillary services and the Disposition/discharge process. If there are anyother services that would limit only to ED would be of great help.
    thanks!

    Hi Ramesh:
My suggestion would be first to identify the CTQ’s by having a brain storming session with the ED department. Then only you will be able to really improve upon the current processs
Ex: Currently the information flow in ED dept might be very slow..If any information flow instruments ex mobile is given then this could be the real approach.

If you need any further info..pls feel free to contact on gvrk_india@yahoo.com
