    Hi all,
This one seems a bit arbit, but I am struggling to move my project ahead. The issue is, my GR&R is nearly 30% of tolerance and process variation and the team has done whatever could have been done with the present resources. Now, knowing my measurement std devn, can I use the information while analysing DOE results and capability studies? If yes, then HOW?
    Thanks for the help.

Your gage R&R results can be used to help with capability studies and DOE analysis.
For capability studies, you can determine capability indices based on total observed variation.  Knowing the measurement SD, you should be able to estimate the process SD.  You could then do some “what if” analysis.  What would hte process capability be at improved measurement and/or  process SDs or process centering?
For DOE analysis, the measurement SD may be close to the expected pure error.  You could use the measurement SD to estimate the number of replicates needed to detect changes in Y and SD.  If after the DOE you find the pure erorr to be much larger than the measurement SD, then there may be significant SD due to DOE Xs varying some (propagation of error).
