Hopefully She/He has a couple of interesting indicators / performance metrics to select one that is interesting for You due to long lead times/too much “rework”or waiting time.I would recommend a very simple and fast project to gain confidence and have quick results…
You can use both lean and six sigma tools:
– Spaghetti charts for patient transportation
– Quick changeovers at surgery rooms
– 5S at medicine storage cabinets (FIFO!!!)
– TPM for diagnostic equipment– Gage R&R for doctors’ judgement
– Cp/cpk for treatments
– DOE for treatments (e.g. pills for high blood pressure)
– Hypothesis testing of effects of treatments on patients before and afteretc.
Always consult with doctors and quality manager before any action!
