GirijeshParticipant@GirijeshInclude @Girijesh in your post and this person will

I am also looking for project related data – for an application of size greater than 10,000 FPs – defect arrival patterns and support team size and structure. Appreciate it if you can share any information regarding the same.
Thanks0September 6, 2003 at 1:23 pm #63061

0September 11, 2003 at 9:33 am #63067I have collected ana analysis the data provided by the SPIN. From the data from the
53 representative projects / two broad domain – Application & system SW / predominatly C,C++, Java, VB, VC++ / Average Size of the projects = 30KLOC / Average Project duration = 900 Staff days / Average Duration of the projects = 190 Days.
Defects: Total Defect Density = 8.2 per KLOC (58% detected through Reviews & 42% detected through Testing)
Productivity:Overall project = 57 LOC / Staffday, Code Phase = 121 LOC/StaffDay0September 13, 2003 at 5:47 am #63071
Vikas M. ValsangMember@Vikas-M.-ValsangInclude @Vikas-M.-Valsang in your post and this person will

Typically it is observed
Requirements: 2 – 3 def/KLOC
Analysis : 3 – 4
Design : 5 – 6 defects/KLOC
Coding : 14 – 16 defects/KLOC
Unit Testing : 4 – 5 defects / KLOC
System Integration Testing : 2 – 3 defects /KLOC
These might be applicable for non hardware dependent software. However as software being developed, depends on the hardware, review defects vs testing defects will change with testing defects being detected more than the above mentioned norm0September 15, 2003 at 7:09 pm #63074
