I am looking for information on the interpretation of p charts. Specifically, I want to know if it is common to apply the full range of Western Electric rules to these attributes charts or if it is more common to use just a subset.
Any insight on articles I might review?

I don’t know of any specific articles and will be curious to see the repsonses you get…
I have not had the opportunity to utilize p charts very often, but I was taught to analyze in the same manner as a control chart utilizing the rules.
Will be watching for other posts…0April 28, 2004 at 1:30 pm #99307

be notified via email.Check in Minitab. She uses 8 of the WE rules for continuous data control charts and only 4 for the discrete charts such as the p chart. Why not check the original source, “Statistical Quality Control Handbook” by AT&T copyright 1956.
