A quick question. I’m looking at putting a bunch of people in this organization through Black-Belt training.
It isn’t as a part of a structured introduction of the 6S methodology (we will probably end up using Lean this is a very “fat” organization).
What do you think are the benefits of doing this in the trained people’s day-to-day work?
    I can see:
    ·        Increased reliance and priority on data for decision making
    ·        Improved awareness of the customer
    ·        Improved team-working abilities
    ·        Attitude & viewpoint which is more aligned with the goals of the organization
    ·        Better approach to information gathering.
    All comments appreciated.

I see yoour message is a month old, but I’ll reply anyway in case you still are reading this forum.  I would consider training a bunch of people in BB to be a big waste of time and money.  You would be much better off to train them in Lean, as you said yourself.  Teaching people to “see” that they are part of an end-to-end process flow creates a better understanding of how value is created for the customer, and how their actions are important.
