0August 6, 2009 at 11:38 pm #184750I agree. Much quicker today.
0August 7, 2009 at 2:01 pm #184753Not sure if you’ve done anthing to it yet but as of yet I see no real difference maybe a second or 2 quicker but still very slow compared to others.
0August 7, 2009 at 6:41 pm #184756I find this website very, very slow! And I have a fast PC.
0August 7, 2009 at 7:08 pm #184757It seems to be all over the map. Yesterday I gave up trying to log on. This morning, about an hour ago, it was slow but at least it was accessable. Right now, its response time is about what I get on other sites.

Katie BarryAssociate PublisheriSixSigma0August 7, 2009 at 9:19 pm #184763Katie, I understand this has been a real challenge… however, you have had “experts looking at it” for nearly 3 months now. How much looking is it going to take?

Katie BarryParticipant@KatieBarryInclude @KatieBarry in your post and this person will
be notified via email. This particular slow-down was a result of virus protection updating at the server level that was run overnight.
The speed – as far as we know – is back at normal levels now. If you are continuing to experience problems, please let me know.
Katie0August 7, 2009 at 10:01 pm #184766Katie,
17:06 UK time – seems slightly faster … almost up to the old speed.
Andy0August 7, 2009 at 10:07 pm #184767Yes, I agree – I wrote to soon. My reply was so slow I posted twice!

I wanted to share some information with you about what I am observing at this time with speed on the system. At my work I am able to access the internet via two different ports. One is work network that provides access through a Proxy Server, at all times speed seems to be normal and absolutely no wait time. When I switch over to a local ISP using wireless connection the speed is really slow, 15 to 20 second page load time. Normally this connection is faster than the proxy server for obvious reasons.
Before the site went down my computer was hit hard by 3 different virus’ just by going to the main page one morning. The three virus’s were: Bloodhound, Downadup, and Downloader. I was using the proxy server at the time and our virus protection immediately identified them but was unsuccessful at removing them. Result was my hard drive had to be completely replaced. Our company IT group, Telvent in Calgary was informed and ran test and confirmed that iSix Sigma was the source. I made contact with other users that I know personally and have not visited the site until they told me the issue was resolved.
Bottom line, is you had a virus issue and I even remember a couple post warning of that prior to my situation happening. I am not trying to slam anyone but simply want you to be aware of the issue.

Thanks for the extra details re the speed issues you’re having. I’ve sent them on to our emedia team.
Understood re the virus. We took the sites down as soon as we learned that readers were being affected in that way. Keeping our readers safe was our greatest priority.

Charlie TylerParticipant@Charlie-TylerInclude @Charlie-Tyler in your post and this person will

page. Is it just my computer, or are others seeing the
same? I thought the load-balancing server was going to
fix this problem?0August 10, 2009 at 9:20 pm #184789
Katie BarryParticipant@KatieBarryInclude @KatieBarry in your post and this person will
be notified via email. When I checked periodically over the weekend the load times were normal. I’ll check in with our e-media team and see if there’s anything going on that might be affecting speed.
Thanks for letting me know you’re having problems so we can address them.
