Hi All,Our Company has just initiated six sigma program.  But the approach is like ‘I need something quick’.  Currently a team is doing some pilot projects to understand the DMAIC methodology. Which all factors we need to take care of for successful six sigma?

Think of Six Sigma Success as the Y of an equation = function of X’s.
Success Factors are: X1 = Right Black Belts; X2 = Right Projects; X3 Right Support.
Right Black Belts = Leadership 70% combined with Analytical 30%. The biggest mistake companies make is to hire Black Belts w/out leadership abilities…
Righ Projects = Well-defined projects based on a “objective” prioritization criteria & a proactive pipeline of projects at a ratio of > 1 well defined project per active Black Belt at any given time.
Right Support = Strong infrastructure in place to support the launch, including Right Champions, Right Communication Strategy, Right Data & Measurement Systems, Right MBB in place, accurate operational & cultural assessment before you launch, etc.
