    PK,
Lean should be all about ‘pulling.’ In other words, use a carrot and hide the stick; but don’t deny the existence of the stick.

I  wonder  whay  to  consider  Toyota  and  its TPS as  the  best  Lean system in  the  world (as  I  have  read  and  heard?)what  about  other “reliable” cars such  like  Mercides,Honda.–for  examples–…etc.I  could  not  see  the advantages of  Toyota comparing  to  other  cars, please  explain

Theory Of Constraints is one of the components of Lean and this combines both push (pushing buffer to the defined bottleneck) and pull (pulling demand to the downstream)

    Hi, Marlon,
As far as what i know or understood, TPS was first started from Toyota production plant and best known for it’s lean manufacturing concept. Toyato has used it very effectively and achieve major sucess in lean manufacturing. According to author of ‘Kanban-Just in Time at Toyota’, Toyota achieved great sucess in 70’s when the company was critised for making too much money during first oil shock.
Although some authors may just it Lean Manufacturing. I believe both meanings are the same.

Daimler has slipped over the last 20 years…big time.   Truth is, Toyota is still top drawer, even in the face of their first major recall.
