    All,
I’m a qualified and experienced BB. I also have a couple of years of Lean experience. The suggestion was made today that “Lean Six Sigma Black Belt” should be put behind my name (where qualifications generally go, eg B.Eng, M.Sc…) on business cards. I’m having gentle heartburn over this. I have never sat an exam, or been given any sort of award which says that I am a qualified LSSBB.Is LSSBB just a title that people give to themselves or is there some form of qualification process?

If you can’t figure out how to only post once you don’t deserve any title :-).

Putting something on your card that you are not is a risky thing.  There are specific certs out there for LSSBB.  I would suggest getting one if you think it will serve you better.  Given that there isn’t really one recognized body for cert out there (although ASQ seems to be the lead), you could be tempted to use anything (LSSBB, MBB, etc.).
It is your personal choice in what you decide to do, but I would stick with what I’m certified in.  By the way, depending on the industry, having the L or M in front of SSBB won’t make much difference.  Your experience/resume showing lean results will suffice in my opinion – that’s what really matters anyway.
