Hello to ISixSigma Forum,
I work in project management in financial industry. I know basics of Six Sigma and I would like to develop further. I am looking for Green Belt training in/around London. I have searched a good couple websites, but it seems that there are none short term solutions avaliable. The earliest decent training I could find is scheduled for August 06!. Does anybody know of any training sessions in the near future?Any training company recommendations will be also greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards

I am sure the benefits of six sigma are multifold which is tempting you to finish GB ASAP. I have done my Black belt recently and I am a Graduate Industrial Engineer with more than 18 years of industrial exposure in Process,Pharma,FMCG and Chemical Industries as Sr.Mgmt.Roles in UK,Japan,India and fully capable of providing a Very good training.if you can manage 4-5 more candidates for GB then I can arrange a Very good Trainer from India who is Master Black Belt and is conducting regular trainings for GB and BB in India.if there are upto 10 candidates then I will arrange this Training and Certification at 1/5th Cost than UK for you all within a week duration of training. I will send you all the training Materials 2 weeks before the Training schedule which will really help you and collegues to understand GB better.
This can be schedule in the last week of march,2006 or 1st week of April,2006.
I look forward to have your response.
with best regards

PlasticParticipant@PlasticInclude @Plastic in your post and this person will

If anyone offers you a quick GB course with certification…start running away. If all you want is a piece of paper on your wall that says you are a certified “whatever”, then just be creative with your computer and print something out. A good GB training lasts about 10 training days. It will be followed by 2 projects. Your trainer or MBB will work an additional 15-20 days with you through the projects. Finally, he or she will recommend you for the ASQ certification (not some home grown certificate). You do this and you will not only grow personally, but also in your career.
Be safe.

To follow on from Plastic’s discussion …
10 day’s of training and 2 projects is typically the upper end of training for GBs. Alot depends upon the type of industry (technical, transactional etc) but at the end of the day results have to be achieved and training with the appropriate tools for the environment are key.
Training can be class room, 2 week intense training, 1 week of intense training, training over several weeks, just in time training or pretty much what ever works to get the job done. One option that also works is a combined approach of GB training and Kaizen – you prep heavily, train, do the project and certify at the end of the week – not for the faint hearted !!!!!

Adam

PlasticParticipant@PlasticInclude @Plastic in your post and this person will
be notified via email.Green belt in three days…. I bid 2…. will give you a great set of steak knieves too…. BUT…. that’s not all….. if you email me back with in the next ten minutes,……I will throw in little plastic ear plugs to keep all the crap some of these people are telling you from entering into your brain.
Here is the challenge:
I will take on ANY 3 day GB course, proving that three days of training is a JOKE. If you win I will pay your fee twice (that should equal to about 6 Euros).
People beware of these so call certification processes in three days…A better way to throw your money away is to visit your local YMCA, Church, or just your average homeless person on the street. They will remember you a lot longer then what you will remeber from a three day course.
Of course… just my humble opinion.

Adam L BowdenParticipant@Adam-L-BowdenInclude @Adam-L-Bowden in your post and this person will

Perhaps I should elaborate – 3 day sessions trpically cover AIC and the prep work I mentioned covers the DM phases and can be broken up into “time appropriate” segments depending upon the data.
I hope every one appreciates your sarcasm :-)

Thanks for the post. I read your responses with great respect. Your insight can surely help a lot of Six Sigma BB and MBB.
Yes I did put a little sarcasm into my last posting…. nothing personal towards anybody, I just was blowing off some steam about how people think they can be come “ccertified” overnight (I think a lot of them are missing the point anyway, it is not about certification, but about a structured way to do your work and gain results).
Anyway, I will continue to look for your postings,
Cheers,

there are a lot of posts on this site and yours, along with a few
others, are the ones that I read – you also have the international /
multi industry experience that folks need to hear.If you blow off steam on this site – not an issue – and I fully “get”
sarcasm. Having spent many years mentoring folks and working
with Leadership means I do not get offended by comments – but
strive to understand, from a diversity perspective, what the other
persons logic/angle is.
It’d be good to chat off line – drop me a line with your ph # and I’ll
