Hello I am looking for transactional project examples or a source of transactional projects spefically in the area of Finance/Accounting/Treasury/HR/Legal that folks may have seen. The company I work for is looking for examples to prime the pump so to speak and drive project ideas. I do understand that other peoples projects will not apply directly but I hope they will be useful in generating some discussion.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Sanjay

Why not look at how you are defining success for those areas and what they are currently measuring?  What are the operational targets for these areas and whch key activities lead to target acquisition?
If you cant answer those questions, I would spend my energies building this metric flowthrough (ie KPI network) and then let that drive project creation.
    Good luck.

Yep, thats what we need to do but the person involved wants a list projects that we can parachute in. I have explained that is not going to happen and we need to take a look at level 1 processes, mega processes, or whatever you want to call them. Understand and measure them but there seems to be an issue understanding this, its not fast enough.
So I am looking for a list of projects that others have done but will not appyly directly maybe I will gain some understanding when this approach fails.
So if somebody does have a list or can point me to one it would be much appreciated.

search on this site for Six Sigma projects in areas you have mentioned. I know there is one article with list of projects from different areas. I found some good hints for sales Six Sigma projects.
    I found the article:

    Hi Sanjay
There’s heaps once you start asking.
There are lots of  issues relating to time, accuracy, standardisation, efficiency etc in areas such as reconciliations, posting journals, production of finacial statments & other reports, snail mail & email, operational risk, compliance to policies, authorisation processes…..
    cheers
    Justin

Sounds like your boss doesn’t understand what lean~sigma is all about.
What is a project in my org isn’t necessarilly applicable to yours. What you need to do is look at where you’re letting your customers down, both internal and external.
Get to the basics see where your’e short of target, KRA or KPI, do the groundwork. You may not actually be measuring anything atall, so the dellusional amongst the team think everythings going along just fine. Put in a measure and wait for the fall-out and disbelief at actually how bad things are.
I suggest you process map to start, take a step back look at things that appear screwy ( they probably will be) and identify what you’d like them to look like (future state) and the gap is the project. Simple!
