Has anyone in healthcare ever done a managed care credentialing project? Our goal of the Lean Six Sigma project is to have 100% of the new providers credentialed on insurance plans within 30 days of his or her’s start date. Any advice would be helpful as we view the various processes, computer systems, files, people, etc., etc.

Hello and Happy New Year.
Out of curiosity, have you started this project? If so, which area of credentialing has warranted the most attention in terms of quality improvement. It has been my understanding that a number of institutions have a difficult time with adverse clinical occurrences and malpractice. Do you share this observation?
