Anyone have a Microsoft Project template that they use for Six Sigma projects?

iSixSigma CommunityParticipant@iSixSigma-CommunityInclude @iSixSigma-Community in your post and this person will
be notified via email. This is an MS Project [and an Excel version that has been exported for use as a living document].
The structure is simple:
- Use DMAIC as the main tasks
- Hold Meetings: I have 2 basic types – Decision and Tool [of course some have both]
- Assign Tasks and allow time to accomplish the tasks
- Review progressThis project example is detailed. It is designed to double as a meeting agenda. Many process improvement meeting drag-on. This approach uses a strategic basis for establishing time bounded activities.

Neil.0January 24, 2002 at 1:07 pm #71468Could you please post the MS Project template in Project 98 format? I am directed to a Microsoft site that provides those instructions so I can open the file.
Thank you,
T. Booth0January 24, 2002 at 1:08 pm #71469I also would like this template posted in MS Project 98 format.
Thank you,
T. Booth0January 24, 2002 at 1:26 pm #71471This template, when I click the link to download the template, pops up in a IE browser window. I was hoping to be able to save the template on my HD. Am I doing something wrong? Can I save this to my hard drive? If so, how?

john beaudoinParticipant@john-beaudoinInclude @john-beaudoin in your post and this person will
be notified via email.I too had the same problem as my company cannot cost justify the upgrades from Office 97, Project and Outlook 98 to the present versions. We can’t even justify an operating system upgrade past Windows 2000, as many of our applications will not run on Windows XP. (The 2000 version is on our newer computers, but we still have many on Windows 98 and even Windows 95).
Asside from that, I did notice that the Excel Template posted came up just fine on my Excel 97. Once it comes up, go to Save As, Excel File and give it a name and – Boom – You have something to look at and possibly use.0January 24, 2002 at 2:21 pm #71477Right click on the link and click the “Save Target As…” option. Then save it to your desktop or select a folder.
0January 24, 2002 at 4:28 pm #71494Just use the File, Save As menu command on your browser to save the Project file when it opens.

( reference Posting 8434.)0January 26, 2002 at 4:00 pm #71572You’re going to have to show better resourcefulness than that…they’re attached to earlier postings in this thread.
0January 28, 2002 at 2:28 pm #71607There appears to be some miscommunication.
I also have Project 98. When I have tried to open either file from the links in this thread, I am referred to the MS webpage to obtain a converter. There it informs me that a converter is not needed (and I can’t find one available) and that Project 2000 and Project 2002 both have the ability to save the file in Project 98 form.
I am very interested in seeing this file, as are others from the reponses posted here. I would appreciate it greatly if D. Brown, who so graciously offered the template, would save it as a Project 98 file and refer it for posting.
Sincerely,0January 28, 2002 at 3:22 pm #71609Bobby,
I think the MS Project file posted is very good.
Regards,
Ted
0January 28, 2002 at 3:45 pm #71614Ted,
I tried this earlier and tried again, still with no success. Would you be able to forward me the file in Project 98 form to [email protected]?
Thanks,
Bobby0January 28, 2002 at 5:05 pm #71621I also tried to open the file with Project 98 but I had no success. If someone could open it, I would appreciate to receive an e-mail with the file.
Thanks. [email protected]0January 29, 2002 at 6:57 pm #71654Got it. Thank you for the e-mail Ted. Regards, cmh

0November 3, 2008 at 4:14 pm #177354Question about MS Project Template, Not meant to be critical
Why is the Charter done and approved in the Planning stage, and then done and approved again in the Define stage.
To me, it is not a charter initially, just a mandate to explore further, and put a charter together for a sponsor / tollgate review. The planning stage is a pre-Charter without much substance.

0November 3, 2008 at 4:57 pm #177357OK, you are hereby approved to do it that way. And retain your certification.
0December 21, 2009 at 5:35 am #187674How did you do the subtotals on the Excel example?
