Does anyone have instructions, paperwork, or a study guide on how to draw a Material Information Flow Map? Preferably one that Toyota (TPS) uses. I need to know the symbols and the proper way to draw one.

@68rs327 – a simple Bing search produced 20,300,000 hits. A cursory look at the first few of the first 10 shows that the information that you seek is readily available. Why don’t you do the minimum amount of work to research your question yourself? We are not here to do your homework.

I did a search before posting … I was hoping to get opinions on which material was best from those with experience with MIF Maps or Value Stream Mapping Material.
Which is the best study guides, software and other training material.

Thanks for all your help.. but by saying do a Bing search didn’t answer the question.
And provided NO help. I wasn’t asking for anyone to do my “Homework” …
I was seeking opinions from those with experience with the material… I presume you have no experience with this material.. not sure why you felt the need to reply to the post…
But, thanks anyway for the negative opinion.

Why Don’t You try to draw a VSM?

This is one of the best book on the market:

No need for snarkiness. This is a forum in which knowledge is exchanged. If you did not want to answer, why did you reply at all?
I too believe in the “teach a person to fish…” method, but you took it too far. Your bedside manner needs some polishing.

@LewYerian – no, they did not need a snarky response, they needed to be FLAMED. For someone who claims to have 20+ yrs of CI experience, you are too soft. Probably should have figured that with an ASQ cert. CI is a contact profession. You better be able to learn on your own and fast, and that means using the tools you already have. Anyone asking such a simple question when a quick internet search would have provided an adequate answer does not deserve a better “bedside manner.” Grow a pair.
