Hi-

I did research on the Ppk calc. in the forum but did not see anything that would help me with this question.  This is a practice exam question.

“What is the Ppk of a process with a spread of 24 units, an average of 68, upper limit of 82 and lower limit of 54.

A) 1.68

B) 2.00

C) 4.00

D) 4.42

Test service claims the correct answer to be “C”.

I am coming up with 1.17  based on this formula: Min((Xbar-LSL)/3*std dev), (USL-Xbar)/(3*std dev))

What am I missing?

Thanks!

It looks to me like they’ve screwed up again.  Answer C is the estimate of the standard deviation (24/6).  Your calculations are correct.

Are bots coming up with these questions or someone without basic math skills?  Crazy.
