no RR?

    Hello there,

    I am about to finish a BB project report for a pizza place and I was wondering if it was possible that there is no R&R under the following conditions:

    – Same person taking the measures = no reproducibility
    – Food being a “unique” item produced every time, the baking time cannot be measured twice by the same person= no repeatability.

    Sounds like a pretty lame project. Go do something real.



    Gage R&R is not the only measurement system evaluation technique. It applies when you have continuous data, such as from a measurement instrument. Use Kappa if you only have attribute data such as good/bad, pass/fail.



    Bake time varies and one observer measures it. There may be error in the observation (simple brief written review of the situation would help), or there logically is not for some reason. In baking pizza the oven is on constantly; the timer does not cut the heat source off (?). But the person who removes the pizza may have delays being measured(?). If you set up a scenario to control the delays in a manner blind to the observor recording data you would have a set of master time standards to be observed. The master time standards could be repeated without any concern for the pizza being burnt or under-cooked.

    If there is an oven timer, set it repeatedly and measure against another “master” timer.
