I am currently a management consultant based in the UK who has recently studied for a year long Six Sigma black belt course via distance learning. Whilst the course was extremely useful, I feel that I have missed out on some of the learning experiences that I would have gained had I completed a more “hands-on” course.
I’m therefore looking for Six Sigma black belt’s or Master black belts who might be interested in meeting up for a coffee to discuss some kind of “win/win” arrangement e.g. I will provide the benefit of my theoretical knowledge (for what it’s worth!) and broad-based consultancy experience free of charge in return for the opportunity to work with experienced BB’s or MBB’s to gain some further practical Six Sigma experience. I am based in Birmingham, but spend a large portion of time working nationally (particularly in London and Manchester).
Alternatively, if anyone is aware of another way of gaining further practical experience around my current work commitments, I’d appreciate any advice anyone has to offer.
Apologies if this is an inappropriate forum for this kind of request, but I don’t know of any other alternatives.0January 17, 2008 at 11:45 am #167338Hi Darren,
We are running a big program which runs out of London and Bangalore. Would be great if you can write to me at [email protected] and I will speak to the program manager if we can work out a liason. Please also mention the organization you are working with (so that we can verify if there may be any conflicting interests)
0January 17, 2008 at 12:25 pm #167339Darren,Let me see if I understand you right. You want to gain a small amount
of practical experience so that you can expand your consulting to
include Six Sigma. Is that correct?0January 17, 2008 at 12:37 pm #167342

I don’t want to give advice out of line with where he wants to go.0January 17, 2008 at 3:03 pm #167351Thanks for the responses.
Stan:
My short-term intention is not to expand our consulting practice to offer six sigma consulting as I believe that currently our team have neither the required level of relevant skills or experience of Six Sigma to acheive this.
My original post was driven more by the motive of personal development i.e. to reinforce the theory that I have learnt so far.
Thanks, Darren0 - AuthorPosts
