What are the main differences between Six Sigma and Project management certification? Are they identical?Does a CSSBB need to be certified in PM as well?
thanks and regards0May 30, 2008 at 7:53 am #172388
Michael MeadParticipant@Michael-MeadInclude @Michael-Mead in your post and this person will
be notified via email.Don’t you really know rthe difference? They are not the same at all, although a CSBB is expected to know some PM techinques. I suggest looking at the contents of some online courses or books to get a feel for what they are about.
0May 30, 2008 at 9:53 am #172391Hi I’ve done both, PM and then SS, and PM does cover some different areas which I think are assumed as understood in SS e.g. project planning, documentation and contents of communication. So from what I’ve seen the SS certidication trumps PM certification.
So unless you like taking exam and sitting infront of boards I wouldn’t bother with the certification sidebut doing a course if you think your weak in this area is probably a good idea.0May 30, 2008 at 11:20 am #172394Managing projects is of course a portion of the MBB’s skill set. The same cannot be said of PM’s i.e. statistical analysis and problems solving tools and techniques is rarily in the professional PM cirriculum.
