Has anyone out there poka-yoked a CAD system? I’m thinking about various prompts which guide user and lessen ability to make mistakes on, or submit incomplete drawings. Any/all comments appreciated.

Have you followed DMAIC in this project? Poka-yokes are great, but have you identified the issues at hand? Pardon me if you’ve already considered the following…
Missing dimensions are often found when the drawing reaches the fabrication shop. Who are other customers of the drawing? What do they complain about?
Be careful not to listen to everyone who says “This error happens all the time.” Most humans are very good at noticing a “pet” error but also very good at ignoring other errors.
Collect data!
Since you have ONE drawing with multiple potential errors, be sure to use the correct distribution to study the data.
