I have been doing this for 5 Years + ,
Can any of you folks offer a practical DMADV example ?

Mostly for a sanity check, but if its a good model, i will use it ! I’m not shy in that respect, rest assured you will get the “intellectual royalties”.

    Cheers

    Hi Jeff,

If you’re looking for a good description of how DMADV can impact real world processes, check out this article on the GE Medical Systems site:
    http://216.136.124.246/pressroom/news_release_detail.jsp?A=true&RECID=102

Using DMADV, “This life-saving technology is one of the largest advances in the nearly 30-year history of CT, and we did it faster and better than ever before because of our Six Sigma quality program.”

    It’s a good read.

    Hi Jeff,

    >Can any of you folks offer a practical DMADV example ?

There are countless examples of DMADV. Any process or product that you are going to offer a customer. It could be a new website that you’re rolling out, a new feature (such as ebill pay), a new service (such as six sigma consulting), a new automobile… you get the picture.

What in particular are you having trouble envisioning for DMADV?

    Hey Jed,

It’s not so much that I cant envisage what the uses of DFSS are. It was more along the lines of what does the detail look like. Like in each stage, what are the considerations, where do you spin your wheels and get stuck. What are the smarts that you learn along the way … Ive read plenty of narratives on how DFSS gives you this and that attribute in the new product introduction program. When i say example, i mean like a project log or something, or maybe a rolled up power point presentation on what actually happened.

    Regards,

    Jeff.
