I’m planning to sit for the ASQ black belt certification exam and I’m wondering how best to prepare for it.  My green belt training was thorough and I think I can prepare for the exam mainly by self-study and application on my Six Sigma projects.  Any suggestions from those of you who have been successful would be appreciated.  If there’s a good reference to use in preparing, please let me know.

Thanks for the offer, but that’s not exactly what I had in mind.

    Ignore the previous comment.
To better prepare for the test, you need to be very good at stat because about 70% of the testing will be about stat. I would advise you to buy a copy of the CSSBB primer from the quality Council of Indiana. you can visit their website at http://www.qualitycouncil.com/
You can also buy Forrest Breyfogle’s book “Implementing Six Sigma” at the same site, it has a lot of resources you might need. You are allowed to use these books during the test. It’s open book and quite franckly, most of the answers to the questions are on the primer, you do not need more than that. If you bring too many books, you will confuse yourself, the test is for 4 hours but if are not well prepared, it will feel like 4 minutes. Once again know your stat, know your Design Of Experiment, know your ANOVA, know your Taguchi.
Having said that, ignore the stupid comments that some people make on this forum.

    Hi,
Buying the CSSBB primer & CSSBB simulation test at Indiana Council is a wise decision. In addition, I will recommend you to take with you a Six Sigma pocket guide you are familiar with. I will recommend to use the Rath & Strong pocket guide. Good luck,

If you’re a good test taker you wont have any trouble, beware the tricky questions.

Based on previous threads, I believe Joe BB will tell you to wear something pretty and feminine.  He said that it helped him pass and it made him feel sooooo good.  At least that’s what Stan said and I am never one to doubt Stan’s integrity and truthfulness…..his morality and intelligence maybe….well on second thought….I wouldn’t believe a thing he says.  Sorry Joe BB.

    Darth:
Many posters’ in this forum has the same opinion as Joe BB. This Stan Guy does not know what he is talking about. Read his post and you will come to know that the only thing he know about statistics is the basics like Z dis, T dist, …………….1.5 shift and stuff like that. He never comments on threads regarding DOE’s (Well, it is apparent that he does not know advanced statistics). There are other posters here who do show the same kind of attitude like Stan, but the difference is they know what they are talking about, so people don’t care.

    Deep honey,
Pick a topic and lets see who knows more.
As far as I can tell the only thing deep about you is the screen name you choose.

I try to ignore Stan but I just can’t. Even your friend Darth has issues with your ethical probity and your intelligence. Deep is right you cannot write your own name without misspelling half of it.

    Joe honey,
I have yet to see you do anything except criticize people. show us that you actually know something.

Joe – disregard Stan…he plays dungeons and dragons all day, chats online all night and lives with 12 cats.  Poking fun at others behind the protection of the WWW is all the little man has.

No Art, Stan is right. I really am homophobic and I am also trying to get in touch with my feminine side.
I don’t really know much about Six Sigma either
