I read an article about “Using Six Sigma to Reduce Pressure Ulcers at a hospital” and something called an “ET accountability tracking tool”  was mentioned.  As an ET nurse, I would love to see the form.  I am currently trying to establish a Pressure Ulcer Protocol at the hospital where I work. Could I get a copy of the form?
    Thanks.

Nancy – can you email me at [email protected], and I’ll see if the hospital involved is willing to share their form?

    Hi Nancy,
Excuse the ingnorance, but could you please tell me what a ET nurse is. We have been doing work on pressure ulcers with pretty good results.

An E.T. nurse is an Enterostomal Therapist. Nurses certified in this area are now called Ostomy Nurses (the change was made in the ’90’s I think)- I actually am a Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse (CWON).  Because the tool used was called an “ET Accountabiltiy Tool” I assume that the nurse has been certified in Wound and Ostomy care for a fairly long time.

LuAnn – I found the article while surfing the internet – I’m not sure whatweb site I found it on but the article is titled “Using Six Sigma to Reduce Pressure Ulcers”.  It may be the Six Sigma Health care site.

I found the article on the internet – it was titled “Using Six Sigma to Reduce Pressure Ulcers at a Hospital”.  On page 5 of the article, it mentioned the “ET accountability tracking tool to be issued for non-compliance with prevention”.  I was just curious as to what was on this form as it might be something we could use at my hospital.

Thank you Nancy. Did you ever get a copy of the form? If yes, can you send it electronically?
