29% of adults don’t have credit cards, in a simple random sample of 100, what is the probability?
That less than 60 have no credit cards? Please show work or formulas, I need a lot of help with this.

Dearest Mr. Dog,Please do your own homework as is expected from your school and your instructors. You are lucky that the mean ole Webmaster deleted my original response which was appropriate given your repeated attempts to avoid doing any studying or learning on your own.OK Webbie, is this more in line with your soft approach to posters like this? Or maybe we should encourage people to defraud their instructors.

Dear Darth,
All I simply asked for is help in guiding me in the right direction to the few questions I asked. I do not need the ACTUAL answers, just help in going in the right direction. And in my defense it is not home work, it is for an exam that I am studying for and have never taken statistics in my life.
Sorry I asked for help, I thought that this is what this forum was for. I will stick to yahoo answers or wiki answers for now on, as it appears this is not the place for help.

Somehow asking for work out to the thousandths place does not sound like simple guidance to me…

You are correct in that this is not the site for providing answers to the thousands, showing all work and showing details…which is what you asked for. You might ask yourself the purpose of taking an exam for which you are ill prepared. Even if by some miracle you pass, what does it really say about your ability to use the knowledge in a useful fashion. Good luck in finding your answers on Wiki or Yahoo. And, ask yourself this…can I trust the answers I will be receiving?

Let S be number of adults with no credit cards
1) Exact answer: 1-(P(S=60)+P(S=61)+…+P(S=100)), where P(S=i)=(100 chose i) * .29^i *.71^(100_i). This is not easy to calculate unless you are allowed to use Excel. Now here is an
2) Approximation: P(S<60) = P(S-100*.29 <60-100*.29 )=P(Z<31/sqrt(100*.29*.71)), then you can use the Z-table to get your answer. Hope this helps….

Darth:  Any chance you kept a copy of the original?  I’d like to have seen that one.Dear Moderator:  I’m guessing that you have some software that kicks out on “naughty” words.  Can you please include “show” in the key words list and delete these before they get posted?Mr. Big:  Do your own homework

Sorry, the mean ole Webby made it go away. It was quite in keeping with the theme of S&S along with threats of tracing his ISP and expulsion from school. The best part was me telling him to take his LittlePooch and go away…nice take on the BigDog posting name. Thought I could slip it past Webby given she ate alllll that turkey so I figured she would be napping on a Sunday. Ya can’t put one past ole Webby. Guess monitoring guys like you and HeBe is a full time job.

First, Bigdog, do you tie your shoes with the left lace over first? Because that’s a very important factor as to how productive you will be throughout your life? Didn’t know if oyu knew that or not.
