    Hello,

If you were to make a report to senior management on the current processes of your company what would be the minimum requirements? (I wouldn’t like to be caught up in a lot of statistical detail)

    My thoughts are:

    Histogram

    1 Total data points
    2 Mean
    3 Sigma
    4 Ppk
    5 Z-upper
    6 Z-lower
7 Estimated % out of SL
    8 Distribution type
    9 Fit Test type
    10 Fit
    11 p-value

    Control Chart

    1 Total data points
    2 Mean
    3 Sigma
    4 USL
    5 LSL
    6 UCL
    7 LCL

Do you think this should suffice?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

If your senior management is anything like mine, you have way to much detail in there. Stick with the pictures (histogram and control chart), and then discuss how the pictures illustrate the number of defects getting out to the customer, and the resulting costs to the business.
You through distribution types, p-value, z-score, fit, etc. your message will get lost, or at the least diluted.

Your senior management sounds like mine.
I appreciate and agree with your input. If they require further detail, it is always available.

In fact, charts and even pictures have proven to be too abstract;  I try to present eveything using hand puppets (the little bunny always makes them laugh).
