I went through the Six Sigma training process for the Green Belt certification but was laid off a month or so prior to my scheduled certification. Obviously, I cannot put “Six Sigma Green Belt” on my resume, but I’d like my resume to reflect that I understand the processes and have the training.Any suggestions on how best to word that type of information?

“Trained but not certified at Six Sigma Greenbelt level”.
I would leave it at that and let them ask about the details.  That will give you an opportunity to explain the reason AND demonstrate your Six Sigma knowledge.  You’d be pushing it a bit if you were applying for a position that required Six Sigma Greenbelt certification, anyway, so having the training experience and knowledge should be a bonus.
    Hope this helps.

Many in your situation are claiming MBB status. The excuse you give is the company choose to cut the highest price resources instead of sticking with quality.
