    How would you measure or estimate the quality cost losses incurred when a process suffers from: 1.variability. 2.being set off target.

    Hi Jon,

    Perhaps you could be more specific in describing the process for which you are trying to quantify the costs of poor processing.
    Generally speaking, so-called “quality” costs are grouped under to main categories: internal failure cost and external failure costs. ASQ has a number of publications on this subject.

    You may want to consider using Taguchi’s loss function as it accounts for both of the factors you cited.
