I’m planning to launch a comprehensive experimental  (global )quality approach for 10 SMEs ,this program should be done in a concurrent manner and should last for 4 -6 months.I have put a simple plan to implemet this program encompassing the following consecutive phases:Awareness Seminar for all the concerned companies-TQM  Seminar-Visiting companies at their site locations-diagnosis for 1-3 days  (for each company)-Validation of the findings (with the SWOT Analysis)-Obtaining the full commitment of the MD-Special required Training (focusing mostly on quality tools ,such as the seven  quality tools,SS….etc)-Action Plan with time table (with accurate measurable indicators),showing accountability (assigning functions to certain persons in each company)-follow up through visible management and through reports and telephones-first  quality audit should take place after  approx.6 month .Please let me know your professional opinion and advise me accordingly.I should appreciate  greatly any reasonable feedback and response, kind regards.  Mman

Also I should emphasize and focus on the process mapping (flowchart),and to put a general “charter”(similar to the SS Charter), indicating all the necessary steps to achieve the targets.I would rather use the DMAIIC Principle instead of the PDCA (PDSA).Please let me know your professional opinions in regards to those 3 points, their  “vital”role in implementing this  (global) approach.I will publish the “wrapping-up” results (article) in this site ,so let me read your contribution and your “Brainwriting”.Let us trigger (Luanch) the new Debate.   Thank you and regards.          Mman

    mman:
Your range is too large, in my opinion, to have your subject addressed by a group of strangers whom opinion you can not trust. Yikes!!
Be prepared to go “off roading with a wack-job” real soon. This is my way of saying that you will get minimal advice that’ll work, for a whole lot of reading. But you’re welcome to try..Enjoy. :-)
But perhaps that is your goal? :-)

Contact me if you want to subcontracting out your training for your suppliers in Asia Pacific. The chance of success is thinner if you spread your resources too wide and no close follow-up with them. My email is [email protected]

Your roadmap looks fine and I just whish to share some of my experiences. Be sure of trigger beetwen all sites, if they aren’t alligned it could create noise. I agree to use DMAIC instead of PDAC, but be sure of their knowlodge base of PDAC and their open mind to move on DMAIC. Even many company are ISO certified, there are substantial differencies in terms of approach and affective working by PDAC and DMAIC. just one question: You said “Obtaining the full commitment of the MD”, but from who you received your commitment to start ? From CEO ? Why was committed to you this quality effort ? They haven’t any quality activities (best for you) or they have but must be improved ?
Hope this is little bit help.
    Rgs, Peppe

I appreciate greatly your response and comment,Peppe.Actually I should do this job as a field experiment, just implementing a new quality concept as part of my obligation to the steering committee. We will do this job for those  10 SMEs  for free hence their full commitment (specially the CEOs ) is highly required.A contract should  be signed in-advance ,showing their obligations to the  the project charter, indicating their respect and interest to allow for improvement ,following the  action plan for each company. Some of them are starting from scratch, some have already the ISO,and others are in the middle.I should welcome again all your remarks and comments.I invite others  as well to participate, thanks and regards.
