I am about to start a deployment of six sigma in a cement/concrete/asphalt organization.  I want to know what questions should I be asking to my executives, management and overall organization to make sure to deploy a successful program.
    Thanks.

Jimmy:  First, you should not be going into a deployment without having a good understanding with management as to their expectations.  Why are they implementing six sigma?  How will they measure success?  When the push-back comes (as it inevitably will) how are they prepared to react?
Having substantive and firm responses for these questions will help to craft a communication plan for your deployment.

Take a look at the article “Understanding Six Sigma Deployment Failures” by Mike Carnell and available on the Isixsigma website.  Then analyze your organization to see how likely they are to make the same mistakes.

These are good suggestions. Also look at http://www.opensourcesixsigma.com. In particular, LSS Executive Introduction and the Project Selection Process.
Lay a good foundation and your house has a greater probability of surviving the inevitable storms.

The following questions may be used as a guideline to build your own questionnaire… 1)Will management support the Six Sigma program? Support in terms of resources, time, budget2)What are their expectations from the program?3)How long is the management willing to wait before seeing results in hard dollars?Keep in mind deploying Six Sigma is a time taking process that requires considerable investment.Good luck!
