Advances in diagnostic imaging such as the different resolution slice scanners – many hospitals have employed this technology to provide high def 3-d imaging, but it is not universally used.  Once it becomes affordable and universal, the face of radiology will chnage in terms of process and outcomes.
Electronic records – advances in PACS and resulting computer-based images will change the face of how radiology process work and the quality of outcomes they provide (provided MDs will get on board and healthcare can afford it).
The technology advances are here, so your research on face-changing quality initiatives will be easy to find.  Problem is that many hospitals simply can’t afford it – especially the non-teaching community hospital with a low operating margin (which is most of them).

Post your email and I will send some sites. The isixsigma forum wouldn’t let me post them.
