What is the rolled throught yeild for a process with the following infomation (please explain how you came up with the answer):
Step 1: Yield = .97
Step 1: Defects = 20
Step 2: Yield = .94
Step 2: opportunites = 100
Step 3: Units = 1

Dear Ivette:
.97 x .94 = .91 = 91% for steps 1 and 2.  The rest is not enough information.

Just checking but you have a two step process with yields of 97% and 94%.

Ivette,
For rolled throughput, all you need to do is multiply each of your individual FPY%’s by each other.  What you have seen in replies to this point is correct.
So, up to step #3, you have 91% RTP.

You can also look at it froma DPU perspective if you know defects and opportunities at each step.  Add DPU to get Total DPU.
